Beijing
Freedom to all the people!

Me preparing my trip to The Great Wall of China. The weather forecast for the next morning will be blizzards with temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees celcius (-30C/-22F). China experienced the coldest

winter in more then 40 years. But as “Bucked headed” as I am, nothing will stop me from going to the wall.
Beijing
After a dreadfull 6 hour bus ride I still had to walk for 45 min. uphill in the snow to the wall.
Beijing
Getting excited! I start to see something in the distance.
Beijing
Arriving at closed gates. All effort for nothing. Because of the terrible weather nobody was allowed to walk on “The Great Wall of China”. Isn’t that great? ;(
Beijing
I am coming from the cold, but I am going where it’s even colder.

Going up north to Harbin
Because of the terrible winter weather al domestic flights to the north where cancelled. The only option left was “business class” by night train (Z1). A 10 hours ride.
So here I am on my way to the Beijing Railway Station.

Standing in line to take the night train
Beijing

Did I mentioned business class? Well this is my coupe with so called “Soft Sleeper”.
